Record attendance: 101,206 professional buyers
From January 25 to 30, 2007, MAISON&OBJET and PLANÈTE MEUBLE PARIS were the major events, with the finest international and top-of-the range offer on the decoration, furniture, design and upholstery markets. The success of this 2007 session, presenting a general vision of the decorative arts linked to the home and revolving around a strong creative expression, clearly demonstrates the vitality of Paris, an essential creative and major economic venue.
Organised for the second year at Le Bourget from 25 to 29 January, 2007, PLANÈTE MEUBLE PARIS received 17,790 visitors including 5,903 foreigners (+ 5% on January 2006) who discovered the 2007 collections consisting of almost 300 brands, covering over 16,000 mÅ of net stand space. Visitors are more specialised, more qualified and adapted to the market targeted by this exhibition, which takes place once a year. The most exclusive and qualitative aspects of Furniture were represented with a sector-based presentation – ÉPOQUE(S), ATMOSPHÈRE and LIVING – highlighted by a remarkable scenography by Francesca Avossa and Isabelle Cohendet aiming to give even greater fluidity. Besides the exhibitors themselves, the exhibition's special events were extremely successful.
Le MAGASIN, a stylistic exercise, three variations around the same piece of furniture - the sofa, the bookshelves, the table - by three merchandising agencies, was a source of inspiration to visitors. Daily conferences on the themes of French and international retailing provided the opportunity to discuss different viewpoints and discover new ways of tackling subjects as varied as production in Egypt or Scandinavia, furniture distribution, specific hotel and restaurant furniture, etc.
