SICI 2007: Between 16th and 20th October at FERIA DE MADRID

All expectations have been surpassed regarding contracted exhibition space at SICI 2007 With still four months to go before the fair itself, some 23,000 net square metres have already been contracted, which represents an increase of 15% compared to the last edition of the event.

The fair has also acquired international status and consolidated its position as the second most important fair for the sector in Europe.

A total of 112 exhibiting companies have already confirmed their participation at SICI 2007, the International Integral Kitchen Exhibition, which is due to take place at FERIA DE MADRID between 16th and 20th October next. With still four months to go before the fair itself takes place, the available exhibition space has practically been filled, based on a figure of 23,000 net square metres, which represents an increase of 15% compared to the last edition of the event. In this respect, Halls 7 and 9 at the fairground will be fully occupied.  This expansion also corresponds to the exhibitors' need to present bigger stands for the presentation of a larger number of products, new features and ideas in all the sections that make up the exhibition.

Organised by IFEMA and promoted by AMC, the Spanish Association of Kitchen Furniture Manufacturers, SICI 2007 will consolidate the fair's position as the leading forum for the industry in Spain and the second most important trade event within its field in Europe, behind the fair staged in Milan.  It is precisely this international dimension of SICI that has progressed so favourably over the last few editions of the fair, with the event enjoying sustained growth both in terms of the level of participation on the part of foreign companies and leading brands and the number of visitors from abroad.
Furthermore, since last November SICI has formed part of the calendar of international fairs for the year 2007 promoted by the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX), in accordance with a resolution issued by the Tourism and Trade Office at the Spanish Department of Industry.  This new status will entail a number of important benefits for the fair as a whole, including its inclusion on the promotional programme implemented by Spain's trade offices abroad and the possibility of the fair employing its international status as a marketing tool.
At the next edition, the participation of foreign companies at the fair will increase by 40%, with some 28 direct exhibitors from Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, France and Denmark having already confirmed their presence.  In addition, with a view to making SICI a more extensive business forum that would enable companies to open up new channels for trade and expansion in other countries, a significant promotional campaign has been set up in order to attract foreign buyers, including, among other measures, the organisation of an elaborate International Guest Programme in collaboration with ANIEME / ICEX and the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Madrid.

. An Innovative Exhibition of High Quality and Careful Design

As at previous editions, SICI 2007 will present an exclusive selection of ideas, with innovation, design and quality all playing a key role. The exhibition will be expanded with the incorporation of a number of international manufacturers and companies who will be taking part at the event for the first time, along with the Non-Laminated Worktop sector, which will significantly strengthen its presence at the fair on this occasion.  The rest of SICI's offering will include a wide range of new features and trends in Kitchen Furniture; Kitchen Tables, Chairs and Benches; Kitchen Benches, Fitted Electrical Appliances, Sinks and Software.

SICI 2007 will thus become the focus of attention of distributors, architects, decorators, interior designers, building companies, property developers and other prescribing parties, who shall be offered a comprehensive preview of the best and latest ideas in design, technology and new materials applied to all elements that make up the kitchen environment, as well as the latest in functional and practical solutions regarding space organisation.
