Meeting Professionals International Announces 2007-2008 International Leadership and Chapter Presidents

Volunteer leaders charged with activating MPI’s global vision Meeting Professionals International (MPI) announces its 2007-2008 Board of Directors, MPI Foundation Board of Trustees, MPI Foundation Canada Board of Trustees, European Council, Committee Chairs, and Chapter Presidents

Angie Pfeifer, CMM, assistant vice president, corporate meetings, travel & incentives, Investors Group Financial Services, Inc, will assume the role as the 2007-2008 chairwoman of the International Board of Directors. Michael Beardsley, CEO, Inn Fluent, LLC, will lead the 2007-2008 MPI Foundation Board of Trustees as MPI activates its new vision of building a global meeting industry community.
Pfeifer has been a member of MPI for 13 years, serving on the International Board of Directors and its Executive Committee for four years. 
With her industry-coveted certification, Pfeifer is one of only approximately 250 Certified Meeting Managers worldwide.  She has extensive knowledge in the area of corporate meeting planning and has served in the meeting professional industry for more than 17 years.  Her formal education background includes public relations, communications and business management.

Beardsley has been a member of MPI for six years, volunteering with the MPI Foundation as a member on the Board of Trustees where he served on the Projects and Development Committee. Additionally, he served as Vice Chair of the Development Committee and has been a member of the MPI Chairpersons Advisory Council for the last five years.

A 26-year veteran of the lodging industry, Beardsley has been with Marriott International and Renaissance Hotels and Resorts since 1986 and left only recently to start his own company, Inn Fluent, LLC. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of New Orleans.
Effective July 1, these volunteer leaders, including the MPI Foundation Canada Board of Trustees, European Council and chapter presidents, assumed leadership roles to build a global meeting industry community.
