MEDICA and COMPAMED continue their victory tour - premiere for new Hall 8b The world’s largest medical trade fair MEDICA plus COMPAMED, the leading international trade fair for upstream supplies for medical manufacturing, both continue on course for success at their “homebase” Düsseldorf!

With net exhibition space bookings so far standing at a total of 117,000 m² for the 39th World Forum of Medicine (14 to 17 November 2007, COMPAMED: 14 to 16 November 2007) exhibitor turn-out already exceeds the final figures of the previous year (115,000 m²).

Delighting at exhibition space bookings, Horst Giesen, Project Director at Messe Düsseldorf, said: “The interest exhibitors take in these two events is as high as ever. Demand remains unchanged and stands at a high level for all ranges on show. We will be able to accommodate the particularly strong growth experienced by COMPAMED over the past few years by adding the new Hall 8b to our fair grounds.” Altogether more than 4,200 exhibitors are expected to take part at MEDICA 2007 and over 320 at COMPAMED (visitor turn-out in 2006: 137,500).

For MEDICA 2007 and COMPAMED 2007 all 19 halls of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre will be fully booked up. MEDICA covers all subjects related to out-patient and in-patient health care procedures. Focal themes include: electrical medicine/medical device technology, laboratory technology/diagnostics, drugs, physiotherapy/ orthopaedic technology, medical supplies and consumables, information and communication technology, textiles, medical furniture, room furnishings, facility management and building services.

Concurrently held in Halls 8a and 8b (in the immediate vicinity of the Exhibition Centre train station and the Main Entrance Concourse Nord) COMPAMED showcases high-tech solutions for medical device technology manufacturers – ranging from raw materials, components, parts, packaging and services to micro-system and nano technologies. The new exhibition hall 8b will be inaugurated in September 2007 and will be opening its gates for the first time to exhibitors of COMPAMED.

MEDICA and COMPAMED can be visited on one admission ticket valid for both events. At the same time, this ticket will also grant access to the majority of MEDICA Congress events – Germany’s largest forum for continuous multi-disciplinary medical education attracting over 10,000 participants (in 2006) to a total of 200 seminars and workshops involving in excess of 600 internationally renowned speakers.

Focal themes for 2007 will be: cardiology, oncology, metabolic disorders and pain management as well as neurology themes such as strokes, depression and dementia. In addition to the strictly scientific seminars, business, organisational and legal issues will also be addressed.
