From 6 to 10 March 2007, ISH – The World’s Leading Trade Fair for the Bathroom, Building Services, Energy, Air Conditioning Technology and Renewable Energies – presents the entire spectrum of products and services for the fields of heating, sanitation, air-conditioning and refrigeration. In addition to this comprehensive range, the international trade fair is distinguished by an extensive complementary programme offering in-depth insights into the latest trends, subjects and innovations of the sector. At special shows, specialist forums and symposiums, trade visitors have the opportunity to gather the information they need and to discuss issues with experts.

Building services and energy technology
The focus of ISH 2007 in this segment is on renewable energies. The ISH Technology and Energy Forum on 'Efficient Systems and Renewable Energy' in Galleria 1 (North) will take a detailed look at the connection between modern heating technology and renewable energies. Thus, the spotlight at expert lectures and an interdisciplinary exhibition will be on new options for the use of fuels from renewable raw materials, system integration for modern heating technologies and increasing the energy-efficiency of buildings. The Forum is organised by the Association of the German House, Energy and Environmental Technology Industry (Bundesindustrieverband Deutschland Haus-, Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V. – BDH), Messe Frankfurt and other organisations. The increasing interrelationship between architecture and energy and building-services technology is the subject of the 'Outlook – Integrating Energy' event in 'Saal Europa', Hall 4. The organisers are Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Federation (Zentralverband Sanitär, Heizung, Klima - ZVSHK), the Association of the German Central Heating Industry (Vereinigung der deutschen Zentralheizungs-Wirtschaft e.V. - VdZ), the Building Climate Institute (Fachinstitut Gebäude Klima e.V. - FGK) and the Federation of German Architects (Bund Deutscher Architekten – BDA).

The German Tiled Stove Working Group (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der deutschen Kachelofenwirtschaft, AdK) and Messe Frankfurt invite all ISH participants to an exchange of opinions and experience at the Tiled Stove Forum in Hall 9.2 (stand D11). Lectures of subjects of topical interest to the sector will also be held there. Visitors to the AdK stand are also invited to wind down after a busy day at the fair in a relaxed atmosphere at the AdK Happy Hour every evening.
At its stand in Hall 8.0, the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Federation (ZVSHK), Messe Frankfurt's most potent partner on the installation side, will also offer information on the subject of renewable energies. The Federation plans to show the installation trade that renewable energies, such as solar power and biomass, are realistic alternatives to conventional energy forms. Additionally, in a themed special show entitled 'Energy & Architecture', the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Federation (Zentralverband Sanitär, Heizung, Klima - ZVSHK) presents visionary concepts for building-services and house technology of the future oriented towards greater efficiency and resource conservation. A seminar in Hall 9.2 (Room 'Dialog') on 8 March will provide information about 'Sustained energy usage in the field of building-services technology'. Beginning at 3 p.m., the REHVA Seminar is being organised by the Federation of European Heating and Air-Conditioning Associations (REHVA) in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt.

'Energy efficiency through modern automation systems', one of the main topics at the stand of the Federal Association of the Heating, Air Conditioning, Sanitation Technology and Building Services Systems Industry (Bundesindustrieverband Heizungs-, Klima-, Sanitärtechnik/Technische Gebäudesysteme – BHKS), will be discussed in depth at a Symposium in Hall 9.2 (Room 'Dialog') on 8 March.

A presentation on 'Grey and Rain Water' organised by the Trade Association for Grey Water and Rainwater Usage (Fachvereinigung Betriebs- and Regenwassernutzung e.V. – fbr) in cooperation with the Hessian Ministry of the Environment will be open to visitors throughout the fair in Hall 9.1 (D16). The special show offers a topical overview of the state of the art in the field of rainwater usage and rainwater management, grey-water recycling and ecological sanitation concepts.

Aircontec
Visitors will be offered two forums within the framework of Aircontec: the IKK Building Forum of the Association of German Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Companies (Verband Deutscher Kälte-Klima-Fachbetriebe e.V. – VDKF) in Hall 6.2 covers the building-related refrigeration technology with the emphasis on a holistic approach to the energy consumption of a building. The Air Conditioning Forum of the Building Climate Institute (Fachinstitut Gebäude Klima e.V. - FGK) in Hall 5.1 will focus on air-conditioning and ventilation under the motto 'Energy Efficiency and Hygiene'. The Forum is spilt into three sections: 'Architectonic solutions with central air-conditioning systems', 'Hygiene and maintenance in the field of air-conditioning technology and 'Market Place for Room Air-conditioning Equipment'. The Air Conditioning Forum (Klima Forum) will be accompanied by a high-grade and interesting programme of lectures covering all subject areas. Messe Frankfurt is involved in the organisation of both forums.

As part of Fireprotec in Hall 6.2, two symposiums on the subject of building law & fire protection on 7 and 8 March will be of particular interest to everyone working in the construction field, e.g., property developers, architects, planners and building contractors, as well as fire-protection officers, fire brigade representatives and building supervisory authorities.

To be held on 7 March, the XI Building Law & Fire Protection Symposium of ZILLER-ASS Sachverständigen GmbH Brandschutz is not only one of the biggest events of its kind but also a recognised forum. At the XI Symposium, which is expected to attract around 1,000 participants from the whole of Germany, top speakers will make presentations on and discuss current and future developments in the field of preventive fire protection with special reference to the frequently conflicting demands of building law on the one hand and fire-prevention on the practical level on the other.

Initiated as a joint venture of ZILLER-ASS GmbH and Messe Frankfurt, the I International Building Law & Fire Protection Symposium will make its debut on 8 March. The spectrum of subjects covered will give both international ISH visitors and German trade visitors valuable insights into selected aspects of preventive fire protection including the way towards an optimised fire-protection concept as illustrated by the plans for the new Hall 11 at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.

The House, Heating and Kitchen Technology Industrial Association (Industrieverband Haus-, Heiz- und Küchentechnik e.V. – HKI) extends a cordial invitation to exhibitors and visitors to come to the Fireplace Forum in Hall 9.2 (Stand D03). In addition to the environmental qualities of solid-fuel fireplaces, the latest development trends and safety questions, the Forum will also examine aspects of certification for fireplace appliances.
