Horeq, Fehr and Cehat strengthen their alliance
Good prospects for a young fair, which has become an established feature of the trade fair calendar for the industry.
HOREQ adapts its dates to the international calendar for hotel and catering industry fairs.
Equipment manufacturers will be presented in a special section of the fair. IFEMA, the Spanish Hotel and Catering Federation, FEHR, and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Apartments, CEHAT, have strengthened their links in order to stage the fourth edition of the Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Show, HOREQ 2007, which will take place between 24th and 27th November 2007. The preparations are well underway for this interesting trade event. The Show, which presents some excellent prospects, will once again take place at Feria de Madrid. On this occasion, the Contract Channel, along with Food Outside the Home, will play an especially prominent role at the fair. The presentation of this new edition of HOREQ on 22nd November 2006 at Feria de Madrid featured the participation of top representatives from the three bodies involved in organising the event: the Chairman of the IFEMA Governing Board, José María Álvarez del Manzano; the Head of the fair itself, María Valcarce; the President of FEHR, José María Rubio, and the President of CEHAT, José Guillermo Díaz Montañés. This confirms the alliance that exists between the organising bodies, as well as the strong commitment that the two business federations have made to the trade fair itself. With regard to the next edition, the representatives of IFEMA and the federations mentioned above highlighted the opportune staging of the Show and its promising growth prospects. They also focused on the excellent progress the Show has made over the years, having become one of the most representative events in its field. HOREQ's favourable progress was confirmed at its year 2005 edition, when it attracted some 337 direct exhibitors and 833 participating companies and featured an exhibition area measuring 17,521 square metres. The Show also welcomed some 16,050 trade visitors. We might also highlight the favourable ratings given to the fair by all the groups involved, given that 72 per cent of the exhibitors expressed their desire to exhibit at the fair again, whilst 97 per cent of the visiting professionals expressed their intention to return to the Show. With regard to these trade visitors, we might mention their high decision-making capacity and purchasing power. In short, 53.09 per cent were managers and 14.36 per cent were purchasing heads. The Contract Market The Contract Market will play an especially prominent role at HOREQ 2007. For this integral equipment market for collective concerns, a fair such as HOREQ, which focuses precisely on the sector where most of its business opportunities reside, offers suppliers, clients and prescribing parties an excellent opportunity to gain access to information and to establish business contacts, given that the fair provides an ideal meeting-point for various different members of the industry. In this respect, HOREQ is destined to become an increasingly important point of reference for the contract market. Exhibition layout The HOREQ exhibition is structured around the sectors relating to Hotel Equipment; Laundry and Cleaning Services; Vending; Commercial Equipment; Technologies; Furniture and Decorating; Linen and Textiles; Tableware and Home Furnishings; Bathroom items, Leisure, Relaxation and Sports items; and other facilities and infrastructures, and Services for Hotel and Catering. In accordance with exhibitor needs, the hotel and catering industry exhibition will be split into different sections at the Show depending on the demand profile. In this respect, manufacturers who exclusively target distributors, as opposed to end consumers, will have their own special section at the fair. The products and services exhibited at HOREQ will target trade visitors. The event will feature the participation of hotel and catering distribution professionals, prescribing parties for hotel decoration and equipment and the end customers who require these products: Hotels and Accommodation; Restaurants; Cafeterias and Bars; Fast Food Personnel Catering … etc. An Extensive Programme of Activities Furthermore, the commercial exhibition at the Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Show, HOREQ 2007, will be enriched by an intensive programme of trade activities. The organisers are already preparing the programme, which will consist of a number of activities that are designed to cater for each of the trade groups targeted by the fair. Ever aware of the technological developments that are required for companies to adapt to current and future market requirements, developments that are essential to those companies that wish to maintain or gain a leading position on the market, HOREQ will place special emphasis on technological innovation as a tool for promoting competition within the industry, through the auspices of the Hotel Technological Institute, ITH. HOREQ 2007 will offer the participants at the fair a series of specialized conferences based on this theme, which will undoubtedly serve as an incentive for a large section of the visiting trade. Adapted Dates Finally, it is important to point out that the fair's dates (24th to 27th November 2007) have not only been chosen for their convenience to the trade, but also for their compatibility with regard to the international fair calendar, an especially important aspect for manufacturers that pursue export activities. HOREQ will take place between Saturday and Tuesday, thus adapting to the profile of the professional groups it aims to attract.
