The Madrid International Furniture Exhibition will bring together the best ideas and new features within the industry
Leading manufacturers and companies from the industry will present the key aspects of contemporary decoration.
So far a total of 447 companies have contracted space at the fair, occupying a gross exhibition area measuring 57,766 square metres.
A total of 447 companies have already confirmed their participation at the twenty-fourth edition of the MADRID INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE EXHIBITION, one of the most important trade fairs within the furniture industry. This event, which is organised by IFEMA, will take place between 11th and 16th April. With still three months to go before the fair commences, this represents 80% of the total exhibition space contracted at the last edition, namely 57,766 net square metres.
This edition will also feature the participation of a number of regional representatives. Thus, Madrid will be promoted by AFAMID, the Association of Manufacturers of Furniture and Related Products of the Madrid Region, whilst the Region of Murcia will be represented at the fair by AREMA, the Regional Association of Wood Businessmen of Murcia, featuring the participation of 7 companies. Andalusia will be represented by EXTENDA, the Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, based on the participation of 23 companies, whilst the Principality of Asturias will be represented by IDEPA, the Institute for Economic Development of the Principality of Asturias, featuring 4 companies. Cordova will be represented by UNEMAC, the Union of Wood Businessmen of Cordova, based on the participation of 10 companies. The Businessmen's Association of Montealegre will represent (Albacete) 3 companies, whilst the Regional Government of Extremadura will attend the fair with a group of 7 companies.
With regard to the fair's international dimension, we might highlight the fact that some fifty companies from nine different countries have already contracted space at the fair: Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Malaysia, Morocco, the Netherlands, Pakistan and Portugal. Foreign participation at the fair accounts for nearly 16% of the total exhibition space available. Twenty companies from Portugal will also have group representation at the event through the auspices of APIMA, the Portuguese Association of Furniture Industries, whilst, for the second consecutive year, Abimovel will also attend the fair, increasing its contribution with 8 Brazilian companies. Careful Product Selection
As at previous editions, the exhibition will be presented throughout nine of the ten halls at Feria de Madrid, organised within seven wide-ranging sections that group together related product lines and styles: Textile Club, in Hall 1; Exclusive Selection, in Hall 3; Fusion, in Halls 5 and 7; Interiors, in Hall 9; Garden and Patio, in Hall 2; Contemporary, in Halls 4 and 6, and Accessories, in Hall 8. The exhibition will offer us a carefully designed tour through the latest new trends in decoration at the hands of a number of leading manufacturers and companies from an industry that has once again opted for the best product selection and highest quality levels as differentiating factors.
In this respect, the fair will bring together the best furniture items and integral ideas in interior decoration, all of which adapt perfectly to differing consumer needs and tastes. Here we will come across furniture items that are versatile, functional, cutting-edge, colonial, rustic, traditional, classic ... etc., making up a selection with considerable doses of design and creativity, a selection that offers you the key to contemporary decoration.
Acknowledgements of quality and creativity: Design Awards and Afamid Awards For the sixth consecutive year, the MADRID INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE EXHIBITION will stage its Design Awards, in collaboration with Official College of Decorators / Interior Designers of Madrid (COD/DIM). These Awards will recognize the best ideas among all the new product features presented at the fair, with the purpose of promoting creativity and acknowledging quality achievement.
The Official College of Decorators/Interior Designers of the Madrid Region, the official decoration and design representative, will be the body responsible for selecting the three best designs during the first two days of the Madrid International Furniture Exhibition.
For its part, the association, AFAMID, in collaboration with the Madrid International Furniture Exhibition, will present the ninth edition of the PARQUE DE MADRID Awards this year. These awards will feature three categories: Innovation, Collection and Communication. The first two categories will focus on the creative efforts of the exhibiting companies, and the third, on the work of the various media bodies that report on activities and events relating to the furniture industry. The Madrid International Furniture Exhibition, which this year will take place almost two weeks earlier than its traditional dates and has changed its customary days, now taking place between Wednesday and Monday, will be open from 10.00 a.m. through to 7.30 p.m. throughout the entire duration of the fair, except for the last day when the event will close at 6.00 p.m.
