Couromoda, first Latin American member of the FDRA

Couromoda was the first Latin American company to become a member of the FDRA - Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America. The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) was founded 60 years ago and it is the most important association of importers, distributors and footwear retailers of the United States.

The Association congregates companies that represent 85% of the distribution of footwear in the US, a market with a US$50 billion yearly turnover. Among the member companies of the FDRA are Browns Shoe, Genesco, J.C. Penney, Gap, Nike, K-Swiss, Sears, Clarks, Wal-Mart, Payless, Mephisto USA, Skechers USA, WSA Global Holdings, Wolverine World Wide and many more.

Recently, the new Board of Directors, presided by CEO Jim Issler, expanded the number of members of the FDRA, which started to accept leading companies in other regions of the world. Says president of Couromoda, Francisco Santos: “ Couromoda stands amidst the new companies that joined the entity, in an action aiming at the strengthening relations we have with the North American market.”
