Cevisama 2008:Cevisama programme the architectural ceramic competition and the bathrooms competition
Two of the other activities that comprise the CEVISAMA Indi programme are already up and running: the architectural ceramic competition and the bathrooms competition, both of which are aimed at students. Cevisama, International Exhibition for Architerctural Ceramic and Bathroom Furnishings, will take place from 5 to 9 February 2008 in Valencia (Spain)
In the International Ceramic Tile Design Competition, awards are given to design projects likely to be taken forward to industrial production. The design must meet specific criteria covering innovation in shape or aesthetics, functional originality, advances in decoration, value for money, safety and environmental friendliness. Three prizes are available, of 3,600, 2,400 and 1,200 euros each. The International Bathroom Furnishings Competition on the other hand is being themed “Bathrooms in mini apartments”. Students entering will have to think about what bathrooms should be like in young people’s homes, how to make the best use of the available space and analyse the needs and changing habits of young people that can affect the design of a bathroom. There are three prizes in this competition, of 2,500, 2,000 and 1,500 euros each. Both competitions are open to students matriculated at schools of design, fine art, architecture or engineering as well as to students who have graduated in the two years prior to the competition. The closing date for registering for the competition is 14th December 2007 and entries must be received by 14th January 2008.
