Number of foreign buyers attending Cevisama is up 14,5 %

Final attendance figures for this latest CEVISAMA reveal a total of 97.407 visitors, an increase of 8.2% on the figure for the 2005 show, which similarly did not include the Machinery Show.

The number of foreign visitors rose by 14.5%, reflecting the growing interest of the international marketplace in the products shown at the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Exhibition.  Relative to the 2006 exhibition, which did include the Machinery Show, foreign visitor numbers were 7% up.

Foreign visitors to CEVISAMA´07 totalled 12,759.  Buyers came in greater numbers from all countries  but especially from the Middle East, Asia and Europe and, to a lesser degree but still above 10%, from Africa and America. Visitors flocked in from 147 countries in all.

By geographical area, Europe accounted for 73% of all visitors, the Middle East for 8%, America and Asia 7% and Africa 5%.

The number of buyers attending from these areas reflects the expanding interest in Spanish ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings in markets such as Eastern Europe, which have seen very significant growth.  There has also been a spectacular recovery in markets such as Germany, which fielded 36% more visitors, whilst those from some of the countries of Eastern Europe - Russia and Bulgaria for instance - almost doubled in number.

Almost 2000 Italian professionals visited, making Italy the most strongly represented country amongst all the foreign visitors, followed by France and Portugal.

As for domestic visitors, the largest contingents after that from Valencia were Catalonia then, a lot further behind, Andalusia, Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha.
