Cevisama commemorates 25 years of exhibitions
The 25th CEVISAMA, the International Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Show, is set to take place from 6th to 10th February next. To commemorate its first 25 years the event hosted a dinner at the Feria Valencia Events Centre for the companies that have exhibited in the fair over these last two and a half decades.
The evening was attended by Víctor Campos, Vice-president of the Generalitat (the Valencia regional government) and Justo Nieto, the Minister for Enterprise. A number of eminent representatives of the trade associations for the industry sectors exhibiting at the fair were also present as were leading figures from the ceramic tile, bathroom furnishings and associated industries. CEVISAMA president Armando Ibáñez addressed the audience and highlighted the show’s spectacular growth: from 10,000 square metres in 1983 to 90,000-plus this year. Ibáñez described the show as of crucial importance in terms of sales and marketing and also referred to the international prestige it enjoys. Ibáñez also briefly thanked all those who had preceded him as president and especially those who had come to the celebration: José Lladró, Eugenio de Azcárraga, Francisco García Felipe-Neri and Miguel Carda. Alberto Catalá, president of Feria Valencia, focused his address on the parallel development of CEVISAMA and the exhibition organisers and complex, highlighting the modernisation implicit in the venue’s upgrade, the high point of which is the Events Centre where the dinner was held. The speeches were brought to a close by Víctor Campos, vice-president of the regional government council, who linked CEVISAMA’s spectacular growth to that of the ceramic tile industry as an innovative, cutting edge sector within the fabric of the Comunidad Valenciana’s industrial make-up.
