CeBIT 2007: Topcom comes up with more innovations

Heverlee, 15 February 2007 – Belgian company TOPCOM is preparing for CeBIT 2007. In Hanover, TOPCOM will be showing various additions to its extensive product portfolio.

On their stand at CeBIT (Hall 12 Stand C83), TOPCOM will not only be showing its revolutionary Webt@lker 5000 with Skype, which was presented at CES in Las Vegas, but also a PC-less cordless Skype DECT phone. Topcom will also be showing a “SLIM-line Dect with Eco Mode”, with or without answering machine. Of course, TOPCOM will also be presenting a powerful new data product from its PowerLan collection.

Webt@lker 6000 with Skype
Anyone who uses Skype will probably already know about the revolutionary Webt@lker 5000 with Skype that TOPCOM announced just a few weeks ago. This was the first Skype-certified fixed telephone that could be used to make phone calls possible via Skype, without even needing a computer!
Now TOPCOM is showing off its latest innovation: the Webt@lker 6000 with Skype.

The Webt@lker 6000 with Skype is also a telephone that can be used to make calls via Skype without the need for a computer. Now, TOPCOM has integrated this functionality into a portable DECT phone that also supports conventional telephony in one handset. Using the Webt@lker 6000 with Skype, you can call wirelessly to your friends all over the world via Skype (without the need for a computer!) and make phone calls via the conventional phone line using the PSTN line.

Via the built-in colour screen, it really is child's play to use Skype! You can not only make phone calls via this free Internet service, you can also add new contacts or even create a new Skype account. This user-friendly phone is also connected to a special server that keeps the Skype software in the phone up-to-date via automatic updates, so that the software remains compatible with the PC software versions, without you, as the user, ever having to worry about it.

For existing Skype users, the Webt@lker 6000 with Skype will import all the contact lists, after logging in, so that these are visible on the colour screen. If you don't have a Skype account yet, you can create a new account via your phone in under 2 minutes. You can call for up to 10 hours with the Ni-MH battery inside your phone. In stand-by, the battery lasts for 100 hours between charges.

The phone will be available in the shops from June.

Butler M1200 and M1250
TOPCOM has also added new phones to its extensive range of wireless (DECT) phones. The Butler M1200 and M1250 are a combination of stylish, slimline design with practical functionality in a low radiation phone (EcoMode/Low Radiation). This EcoMode ensures that the radiation emitted by the wireless DECT phone is significantly lower when you replace the wireless phone in its base station.

The Butler M1200 is not just an elegant phone. With its reverse LCD display (black background with white numbers/letters), you can use it in 14 different languages, and it can store up to 50 names and phone numbers in its built-in contact list. Of course, you can also use the Butler M1200 in your own home network, with up to 4 different handsets.

With the Butler M1250, you have all the functionality of the Butler M1200 and more! With the same streamlined design, the Butler M1250 has a built-in answering machine, which means the phone can store messages of up to 14 minutes.

Both phones have a lit display and keypad, and have 10 different ringtones. The Butler M1200 and M1250 will be in the shops from May and June.
