Over 164 brands presented their most exclusive cutting-edge products under the heading of home decoration and design

At its second edition, Casa Pasarela establishes itself as the leading European fair for home decoration and design.

The number of visitors increased this year due to the rising interest of professionals from the various Spanish regions and from European countries, among which we might mention Italy and Portugal.
With regard to the origin of the professionals who visited the fair, the majority came from the Region of Madrid, accounting for 69% of the total, followed by the Valencian Region with 6% and the Region of Catalonia with 4%. Among the countries that were represented at the fair, apart from Italy and Portugal we might mention Mexico, France and Israel, among others, thus confirming the rising international stature of the fair.
As far as the profile of the visiting professionals is concerned, we might highlight the strong participation of architects, decorators and designers, accounting for 20%, 14% and 13%, respectively, of the total participation figure. This simply confirms that the goals of the fair were achieved, namely to create a business and promotional forum for both products and companies from the industry. This international showcase is designed to enhance competition among companies from the sector through brand promotion and identification and the presentation of a high-quality range of products.
In addition, the interest in cutting-edge design was also defined by the various home decoration sectors that received the largest numbers of visitors at the fair. Companies devoted to furnishings accounted for30% of the total number of visitors, whilst those specializing in bathroom furnishings accounted for 28% and kitchens for 26%, followed by the lighting sector with 24%. These figures reflect the strong level of interest that the fair generated in the industry and the importance of design as an added-value factor.
The general public visited the fair mostly on the weekend. The profile for non-trade visitors consisted of a cultivated individual who was interested in the latest trends, based on cutting-edge tastes and who habitually visits ARCO. In this respect, the home design exhibition presented considerable appeal. The influx of visitors to the fair was also boosted by the coincident staging of three cutting-edge design fairs: ARCO, focusing on contemporary art, SIMM, International Fashion Week, and Casa Pasadena, based on home decoration and design, thus enhancing the appeal of FERIA DE MADRID at this time of year.
Exhibitors, visitors and associations all agreed that Casa Pasarela, a fair organised by IFEMA and promoted by Acción Pasarela Promotores, was a great success, covering as it does the exhibition void that used to exist within this sector.
The second edition of CASA PASARELA took place between 9th and 12th February at FERIA DE MADRID, making Madrid a veritable design capital. The fair proved that a strong alliance of creativity, industry and distribution, united by a desire to promote quality, could arouse the interest of the trade in all its aspects.
