On Women: Dolce Vita Style Fellini’s famous movie ‘Dolce Vita’ is the backdrop for the DAY BIRGER et MIKKELSEN Autumn Winter 2007 Collection. The film introduced a new perception of the world – a new way of being modern. Elegance exists outside the frames of exclusivity, which is reflected in the collection’s balance between the classic, the funky and the eccentric. Just try to picture the beloved scene, where Anita Ekberg in a long sensual dress, takes off her pumps and slides in the water of the Trevi fountain… As always, the DAY Women collection consists of something classic, something modern and something luxurious. But this season, with the launch of “Daily Couture”, luxury plays an even more integrated role in the collection; juxtaposed against the modern classic silhouettes and strong tailored suits with feminine details, where womenswear playfully steals from the men’s wardrobe. On Men: The Orient Express This season the DAY Men collection goes to the core of menswear. High quality fabrics, innovative details and a clean silhouette are key elements for Autumn Winter 2007. The collection is created around the suit, with a focus on delivering the tension between classical tailoring and seasonal details, allowing silhouettes to mix; the slim and fitted with the comfortable and loose. Paying tribute to the ethos of DAY and the brand’s heritage, the signature of the DAY Men collection are the Hidden Details. A coloured lining, an unusual button, the detail inside of the shirt cuff, print on the back of the collar - The hidden treasures - that little extra touch, showing a sense of luxury and individual styling. Inspiration For the AW07 collection, DAY Men has bought you a ticket to the Orient Express; its tradition for luxury and dreams epitomizes the ultimate combination of indulgence and adventure. Carrying the passengers through the scenery of Europe on to the old Constantinople. Building a bridge between new and old, East and West. *What are the tendences for this season? On Women: Key Silhouettes The hourglass shaped jacket. Man tailored clothes. Cocoon – bigger and bolder silhouettes. Daily mini couture silhouettes Key Colors Mysterious modern ink black. Pale mélange grey. Classic dark brown, Ultra chic greige. On Men: Fabrics & Silhouettes For jackets and coats, the key fabrics of the collection include dry wool suiting and new takes on classic wools. Along with pinstriped flannels and high quality single and 2 ply's for men’s shirting in stripes, checks and jacquard. The silhouettes are modern takes on classic styles, such as the fitted Crombie coat and traditional British tailoring. Colours Classic masculine colours dominate the collection. Black, dark navy and ebony, mixed with shades of white and grey.
