Bodegas Irius in Alimentaria Barcelona 2008


Bodegas Irius is located in the region of Barbastro and belongs to the Somontano DO, the winery specializes in the elaboration of white, rose and red wines.

The company applies the most developed available techniques such as infrared thermometry, climate stations and satellite imaging.


The produce an excellent quality grape and the selection of the chosen grain for wine production are carried out in a suitable manner.


The region where the winery is located is: Somontano; it is characterized by its privileged land for grape cultivation and by its continental weather which in general does not present abrupt weather changes.


Wine production process combines traditional techniques with technologic developed processes.


The winery produces the following varieties: Chardonnay, Gegürztraminer, and Pinot Noir for the elaboration of mono wines or white variety wines


For red wine production, the grape varieties used are: Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.


The winery produces single grape variety wines and variety wines which are traded under the following names:


• Absum varietales blanco.
• Absum varietales tinto.
• Absum colección Chardonnay.
• Absum colección Gegürztraminer.
• Absum colección Merlot.
• Absum colección Tempranillo.
• Disuperi Blanco.
• Disuperi Rosado
• Disuperi Tinto.
• Disuperi Crianza.


Although its wine production is recent, the winery has already been awarded with distinctions and prizes issued by several institutions.

The winery has its own vineyard of 355 hectares integrated with the winery.


The winery is a modern undertaking of Proconsol Group.
Irius winery architecture is distinguished by the uniqueness of its shapes and by the strength of the materials applied: steel and glass.


Its vanguard building has 54 m height; half of said height, that is to say 27 m belong to an underground construction.

 The winery has been designed within the objective of providing the best environment conditions and a thermal equilibrium for the storage and protection of wines.


The winery also has tasting rooms, meeting rooms and an exclusive restaurant.


The production volume to be reached by the winery when the capacity of the winery is already optimized will be 5.5 million liters.


The company plans to use 70% of its production to exports. They are interested in the USA and European international markets.


At Alimentaria 2008 the winery will be located at Pavilion 3, Stand 756.

 There they will exhibit their most exquisite range of wines of Bodega Irius and Bodegas Antión (which also integrates de group).
