Barón de Ley winery is located at Imas’ farm in the region of Mendavia on the left margin of the Ebro river; a privileged are for grape cultivation due to its excellent weather condition and the soil features.

The winery produces DO Rioja wines, such as:

• Barón de Ley White Wine: 90 % Viura y 10 % Malvasía.
• Barón de Ley Rose Wine: 100 % Tempranillo.
• Barón de Ley Reserva: 100 % Tempranillo.
• Barón de Ley Gran Reserva: 90 % Tempranillo y 10 % otras.
• Finca Monasterio: 80 % Tempranillo y 20 % otras.

All the grape varieties used for wine producing come for 320 hectares of its own vineyard in conjunction with harvests from long term contracts with wine producer of the Mendavia region.
The above evidences the excellent quality of its wines, since its vineyards are subject to strict treatment which guarantees that harvest is performed at the most suitable moment.

Imas’ farm includes the 16th century Benedictine Monastery which nowadays is Baron de Ley’s head office. The project was completed by the construction of the winery in the second half of the 80'.

The winery has been built and design for the production of Reservas and Gran Reservas wines applying the most developed technologies.

In conjunction with the antique Monastery it forms a beautiful architectonic on the whole, both buildings evidence the harmonic symbiosis between tradition and modernity and that is the reason why Baron de Ley’s wines are renowned.
