Balay/BSH Electrodomésticos in SICI 2005
BALAY started its activities in the 1940´s, when two partners founded a firm specialized in the manufacturing of radio transformers and ballasts for lights. The name of the company is formed with the two first letters of their surnames: BALAY.
In 1951, the private company became a public limited company and the manufacturing of electrical appliances, cooking devices and turbine washers began.
In 1966 it starts manufacturing washing machines and in 1970 dishwashers.
In 1979 the industrial plant for the manufacturing of washing machines is inaugurated in La Cartuja Baja (Zaragoza). In 1989 Balay becomes part of the German group BSH, Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH.
With the change of the millenium, Balay consolidates its leadership in white goods in the Spanish market.
Through its five decades in the market, Balay has emphasized its permanent research for innovation to make its products better and more efficient, making its motto ?For a more comfortable world? come true in the spirit of the brand. Balay presents a permanent care for evolution and innovation, interested in establishing guidelines and being a pioneer, adapting to the social trends of each time.
The company is highly implicated with environmental protection, from the manufacturing processes to the energetical efficiency and recycling. It pays special attention to the environmental effects of the products such as water and energy consumption, waste treatment discharge, noise pollution and waste materials so as to achieve and hold a sustainable development.
Balay is also an official sponsor of the Universal Expo that will take part in Zaragoza in 2008.
